Water Filtration System and Installation Chelmer
When it comes to having pure, safe, and reliable water at home Chelmer and nearby areas are fortunate. On the other hand, when homeowners notice that their water: “Doesn’t taste quite right”; “Leaves marks on all of your taps”; and/or “Is harsh feeling against your skin”, then many people often do not realize how much these factors can impact their daily lives. In Brisbane, PBS Plumbing is committed to helping each homeowner in [Location] by conducting a simple water quality test and then having a conversation about what is most important to them. Whether it be better-tasting drinking water, protecting appliances from mineral deposits, softer water during showers, etc., PBS Plumbing customizes each “filtration system” to fit the needs of the homeowner’s water system and budget.
All installations are handled by licensed plumbing specialists who also explain how the installation will work, as well as how to maintain it in the future. PBS Plumbing will replace your filters before the performance of the filter drops off and will keep you informed every step of the way. PBS Plumbing uses Australian conditions to create water systems that include quality cartridge brands and full certificates of compliance so that you always have consistent, clean drinking water without interruption to your daily routine.
Individuals on mains water usually don’t get much visible sediment (compared to individuals relying on tank water, for example); however, ultra-fine particles (i.e., particles that are smaller than 100 micron, the width of a human hair) can clog up carbon filters much quicker than anticipated and reduce water pressure. The issue of elevated sediment is especially prevalent in areas with known water quality issues or an influx of sediment; for example, due to public works, flooding, and drought, which are all common causes of elevated total suspended solids levels in mains water. So, whilst carbon filters do block sediment and it is possible to run a dual carbon system, consider whether a triple filter system with a sediment pre-filter and dual carbon set-up is more suitable.
Dual Carbon
Dual carbon will give the best result for reducing the maximum amount of chemicals on a whole house scale on mains water. The combination of filters we most commonly recommend is the maximum chemical reduction combination, which consists of:
Filter 1: 5 Micron sediment filter
Filter 2: 20 Micron low pressure drop coconut carbon – reduces chlorine without compromising on water pressure
Filter 3: Your choice of carbon block:
0.5 Micron chloramine reduction coconut carbon – composed of catalytic carbon, which has exceptional adsorption abilities (and can help to reduce chloramine, unlike standard activated carbon, which requires a longer contact time to reduce this chemical)
0.5 Micron lead (heavy metals) reduction coconut carbon – if you don’t get chloramine in your water source, consider this cartridge for the added benefit of reduced lead and other heavy metals
Benefits Of Our Filtration
Investing in a filtration system is a boon for your family’s health and well-being. By ensuring clean water, filtration systems shield your loved ones from harmful contaminants, fostering a safer environment at home. With purified water, hydration becomes more refreshing and beneficial, improving your internal health (such as digestive health) and external appearance (healthier skin and hair). Ultimately, such systems promote a healthier lifestyle, offering peace of mind and a safer haven for your family to thrive in.
Chelmer homeowners favour this type of water filtration system because it delivers clean and fresh water to every faucet in the house. This type of filtration system addresses the most common concerns with Brisbane’s drinking water, including, but not limited to, sediment from the mains work, chlorine taste and odour, and trace heavy metals. Installation is streamlined, and it is simple to manage maintenance.
Stage 1: Sediment Filter
The sediment filter captures all of the sand, grit, rust and other fine particles before they reach your plumbing. Since the sediment filter captures these materials before they can reach your pipes, fittings, and household appliances, you can be assured that your plumbing, appliances and fixtures will be protected against excess wear and blockages caused by sediment build-up.
Stage 2: Water Softener
The purpose of the water softener is to minimise the number of hardness minerals such as calcium and magnesium, that will cause a white residue to be left on your fixtures, to reduce the amount of soap required to become sudsy, and to minimise scale buildup in hot water systems, dishwashers, and faucets.
Stage 3: KDF/GAC Filter
The KDF filter consists of media that will absorb heavy metals from your drinking water and will also limit bacterial growth. Additionally, the KDF filter will remove chlorine and organic compounds from your drinking water. This media works in both whole house and under-sink applications.
